Text: A Concise Introduction to Logic, by Patrick Hurley, Wadsworth (9th ed.)
Course Description: This course is designed to help you develop skills in constructing and evaluating arguments. The course will cover basic concepts in categorical logic, propositional logic, predicate logic, inductive logic, as well as numerous informal fallacies.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course students will be able to:

Attendance: Students are expected to attend each class. If
you miss a class, please do not ask me if you missed anything important. You
are expected to make up any missed work. Students
who are unable to attend class are expected to bear the burden of understanding
the material on their own.
Exams: Specific information regarding the questions asked on exams will be provided as the time of each exam nears. Materials asked on each exam are discussed thoroughly in class lectures. Most of the problems on the exams are very similar to problems contained in the exercises in your textbook. No make-up exams will be given unless prior permission of the instructor has been granted. If an exam has been missed due to an illness, then documentation of the illness must be presented. Do not assume that a missed exam can be made up in the LRC.
Grades: Grades will be calculated as follows:
Exam #1: 20 points
Exam #2: 20 points
Exam #3 (Final): 20 points
Quiz #1: 10 points
Quiz #2: 10 points
